American GDP Growth Less than First Quarter

Mitt Romneys Fortunes Are Improving On Economic News

The results from the Fed;s Commerce Department. 2nd Quarter GDP numbers today were predicted to be 1.7% rising from a previous prediction of just 1.5% growth earlier in the quarter. The US grew at a pace of 1.7% from April to June, more than the 1.5% previously estimated.

Even though the actual outcome was higher than predicted it is still less than the 2% growth of the first quarter, (Jan-Mar). Therefore the economy has slowed down slightly with unemployment at 8% but that is an improvement on this time last year.

However this may prove to be good news for Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. If consumer confidence dips in the third quarter then swing voters will probably vote him into office.
