Mitt Romneys' Presidential Hopes

The fate of the Presidential Election for Mitt Romney may be affected by two factors that he does not currently control: (a) Hurricane Issac damaging an oil refinery and Gulf Oil Rigs cut production of this precious commodity and (b) the American GDP numbers are due to be published today.

The damage already done by Hurricane Issac will cause a sudden rise in fuel prices and manufacturing costs hiking the cost of living temporarily during Q3. If the GDP figures due out later today show a lower than expected performance business, consumer confidence and the value of the dollar will decline.

Both of these factors could make a dent to Consumer and Business confidence in the final leg of the Presidential election during Q3 and cause swing voters to back Mitt Romney in this closely contested race for the White House.
